Richard Eaton was a Canadian music pioneer. He gave hundreds of Albertans the opportunity to learn about and participate in high quality choral music. The Richard Eaton Singers, formed more than fifty years ago, continue to delight Canadian and international audiences. The author, Margaret Matheson, worked with Eaton and continues to sing in the Richard Eaton Singers. The book includes historical information and insights with respect to the development of choral music in western Canada and the beginning and growth of the Department of Music at the University of Alberta.
